Fever Fun

A great new morning’s just begun.
My fever reads a hundred one!
They say I have a touch of flu.
Some virus must be passing through.

They’ve given me some medicine
With something awf’ly bitter in.
But that’s a price I’ll gladly pay
For staying home from school today.

While other kids are trapped in class,
My fever’s like an all-day pass
That cancels work and sets me free
To do whatever pleases me.

I’ve got my phone for texts and tunes
And TV set to watch cartoons.
So happy here in bed I’ll stay,
Just make me well by Saturday.
