Misty

A cloud slid down a ray of light
And landed on our street.
I asked her how she liked her flight
And helped her to her feet.

I took her home to meet my hound
And be my special guest.
She drifted in and all around
And then lay down to rest.

Her weeks with us were long and good;
We romped from dawn to dark.
We wandered through our neighborhood
And raced across the park.

With open mouths the kids would gawk
At me, my cloud, and dog.
Until one early morning walk
She vanished in the fog.
