Discoveries

When I turn a rock over to see what is there,
Or I kick at the clover to see what I’ll scare,
Or I search through the strands of our long, shaggy rugs,
I most always discover some marvelous bugs.

When I look at the sky on a clear, moonless night
With my telescope scanning for faraway light,
I spot comets and bright constellations galore
And at least one new star I had not seen before.

When I click through the pages of internet books,
I see pictures that show how most ev’rything looks.
I find storybook people I’m happy to know
And exciting new places where someday I’ll go.
